Sometimes, when you’re in dire straits, with no way out, and a stranger comes to your aid and then mysteriously disappears, that’s the guardian angel. The one who believes in God. The one who respects humanity and understands the pain of others. In some ways, living not for oneself but for others… that’s the essence of life. Hollywood’s movie series, ‘Equalizer,’ has Robert McCall as its embodiment. A former U.S. Marine and a Defense Intelligence Agency operative, Robert is seeking peace. Violence never brings him solace. He seeks salvation. But they can’t stay away from each other.

For the Establishment of Dharma
It is said that at the threshold of violence lies the echo of dharma (righteousness). The most profound message of life can also be traced back to the origins of the Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita. The concept of combining yoga (spirituality) and karma (action) forms the core of righteousness. ‘Equalizer 3’ also delves into this premise. If audiences were ever told about Robert McCall’s story, what his ring symbolizes, why he meticulously folds his napkin before drinking tea, or why he prefers to keep a spoon at a certain place, it might make for an interesting tale.

Anticipation for the Prequel!
Director Antoine Fuqua has been advancing action cinema for the past 15 years. He made his mark with his debut film ‘Replacement Killers’ in 1998 and has solidified his brand through the ‘Equalizer’ series, now in its third installment. While he occasionally indulges in mega-budget films like ‘The Bullet Train,’ the partnership of Fuqua and Washington is irreplaceable. As Fuqua desires, if both of them were to create a prequel for this series, it would be a delightful treat for fans. Meanwhile, in ‘Equalizer 3,’ Robert McCall’s interaction with Remo Gironi, a doctor, further develops the human aspect of the story. The romance brewing between Robert and Amina is essential to the narrative, offering moments of solace to viewers. As a CIA agent, Dakota Fanning excels at creating tension. The film also provides an opportunity for several local Italian actors to shine, with Eugenio Mastrandrea’s performance making a strong impact. Technically, the film is above par, especially thanks to Robert Richardson’s cinematography and Conrad Buff’s editing, which elevate the film considerably.

The Equalizer 3 Movie might be the final installment of the series, but the story of Robert McCall could continue to resonate. In a world where evil has terrorized ordinary people, the Equalizer, who has always come to the rescue, represents the essence of dharma.
