MG India has launched the special edition of its affordable electric car, MG Comet Gamer. Priced at Rs. 8.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the MG Comet Gamer edition is Rs. 64,999 more expensive than the Pace, Play, and Plus variants of the regular Comet EV. The company’s official showrooms across the nation and its website are both places where you can buy the car.

Responsible for its concept and design is India’s top gamer, Naman Mathur. The Comet EV Special Gamer Edition features neon elements on its wheels, doors, and eliminated stickers on the B pillars. Inside the cabin, neon elements and glowing materials are used to create a vibrant atmosphere. Special tech materials are also used for the key and some other elements inside the cabin.

MG Comet EV Price
MG India initially launched this EV in India on May 4, 2023, with a starting price of Rs. 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The Comet EV Pace variant is priced at Rs. 7.98 lakh, the Play variant at Rs. 9.28 lakh, and the Push variant at Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is 3 meters long, 1,640 millimeters tall, and 1,505 millimeters wide.

Power Pack, Range, and Features
The MG Comet EV comes equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 230 km on a single charge. It offers three driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Jio e-SIM connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (dual-screen layout), power windows, 12-inch steel wheels, and many other unique features can be found in this automobile.

Rivals in the Market
In the domestic market, the MG Comet EV will face competition from electric cars like the Tata Tiago and Citroen e-C3.

The Tata Tiago and Citroen e-C3 are also popular choices for those looking for affordable electric cars in the country.

The Tata Tiago EV comes with a 26 kWh battery pack and offers a range of up to 213 km on a single charge. On the other hand, the Citroen e-C3 features a 50 kWh battery pack and provides a range of around 330 km on a single charge.

Both the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen e-C3 are powerful competitors for the MG Comet EV in the Indian market because to their cutting-edge features and appealing looks.

The launch of the MG Comet Gamer special edition adds a sporty and stylish option to the affordable electric car segment in India. With its distinctive design elements and special tech materials in the cabin, the MG Comet Gamer aims to attract young and tech-savvy buyers. The market for electric cars will, however, see fierce competition from other well-established businesses. With automakers continue to release cutting-edge and reasonably priced electric vehicles to fulfill the rising demand for environmentally friendly transportation options, the future of electric mobility in India appears bright.
